Publications
I have published over 90 refereed journal and conference papers.
My research interests can be broadly categorized into two main areas, Internet related research with emphasis on the Semantic Web and Multimedia Understanding through media analysis, annotation and adaptation.
The last two years has seen papers from our group getting accepted in a number of international journals and a few top ranked imaging and multimedia conferences. In the year 2005, we have 2 papers in ACM Multimedia and 5 papers in IEEE International Conference on Multimedia and Expo (acceptance rate 25% or less). We also published in IEEE IT Professional Magazine, Pattern Recognition Letters, Journal of Visual Communications and Image Representation, etc.
Liang-Tien, Chia is currently supervising 3 PhD students and I have graduating students working in companies based in Singapore, like Creative Technology and Motorola Singapore.
